The “Yellow Ball” Showdown

This is a pure team competition where the pressure is shared, but only one person can score at a time! We are using a Gross Points system , no handicaps, just pure performance under pressure.

The Scoring System

Points are awarded based on the gross score of the Yellow Ball only:

• Hole-in-One: 10 Points

• Birdie: 5 Points

• Par: 3 Points

• Bogey: 1 Point

• Double Bogey+: 0 Points

The Team Rule: One Ball, One Scorer

Each 3-ball flight is issued one special Yellow Ball.

• The Rotation: You must rotate the ball every hole (Player A on Hole 1, Player B on Hole 2, Player C on Hole 3, etc.).

• The Only Score That Counts: On any given hole, the only score that goes on the team’s card is the one made with the Yellow Ball.

• The Support Crew: The other two players in the flight play their own balls for fun, but their scores do not count toward the team total. Their job is to help the Yellow Ball player with yardages, reading putts, and moral support!

The Ultimate Risk: Don’t Lose It!

If your team loses the Yellow Ball, your team is out of the main competition. You can keep playing for pride, but you can no longer post a score for the leaderboard.

Team Awards

• Champions (1st Place Team): The flight with the highest cumulative points from their Yellow Ball rotation.

• Runners-Up (2nd Place Team): The flight with the second-highest points.

NOTES:

1)      Places will only be available to paid up members of the HKFC Golf Society.

2)     This is a social event and selection will be based on first come first served format. 

3)      Drop outs within 5 days of an event will be deemed to have played in the event.  They will also be charged for the event unless a replacement player is found.  Replacements will be sought from all unsuccessful applicants for that event by email and allocated on a first response basis.

Cost: GS Member: HK$525 for green fee

Deadline: 12 noon, Monday 25th  May 2026

Transport: Players to travel to Deepwater Bay at own cost.

Prizes

1st place team  – $200 each  F&B Voucher
2nd place team – $100 each  F&B Voucher

Participating players are urged to stay for the award ceremony held at the veranda, or risk forfeiting any prizes that you may have won.

All cancellation requests are to be sent to [email protected] only, to avoid any missed communication.

It is extremely important that you attend the post-round award ceremony on time! Please keep in mind that any members who are eligible for prizes but are not present at the post-round award ceremony will be presumed to have forfeited their prize.
