The Open Celebration – Royal Troon

Venue: Sportsman’s Bar, HKFC.

Cost: $200 for HKFC GS Members & $300 for HKFC GS Member’s Guest (limit of 2 guests) charged to the HKFC Membership number submitted.

The final, and some might say the best, major of the year is upon us as The 152^nd Open Championship is battled out between the 18^th-21^st July. This year it is being contested on the Scottish west coast at Royal Troon’s Old Course, which was founded in 1878. The 2024 Open Championship will mark the 10^th time the tournament has been played at this prestigious links golf course.

To celebrate being in the warm and wet, as opposed to Scotland’s cold and wet coastal climate, the HKFC GS is hosting a celebration of all things golf, and some things Scottish, on the final day of the Championship. Both HKFC GS members, and their guests, are welcome to join us at the event.

We will be providing a selection of food and beverages at the Sportsman’s Bar from 7pm on the final day of the Championship, where the Claret Jug will be awarded once again. There will also be a prize draw for HKFC GS Members, where they will be assigned one of the remaining golfers left in the event for a chance to win some Open Merchandise. There will be prizes for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place finishers; lowest and highest score of the day (first golfer to post it will be the winner), and Champagne for any golfer that achieves a hole-in-one, posted any time throughout the weekend. Royal Troon is tied for the most holes-in-one by venue since 1981, witnessing five aces, so there’s a good chance someone will be going home with bubbles.
